In-Line Centrifugal Pump UND/II-IL

ANSI/ASME B73.2 Standard

The UND/II-IL Series models are particularly suitable for processes that require robust and highly versatile pumps that need to be installed in locations with limited space.

Derived in part from the UND Series centrifugal process pumps, the UND/II-IL Centrifugal Pumps meet ANSI/ASME B 73.2 standards developed for vertical in-line centrifuges for chemical processes.

Operational Parameters

Capacity: ___________________________     up to 350m3/h

Total manometric head: _____________     up to 210m

Maximum Rotation: _____________________     3600 RPM

Project Features

  • “Back pull-out” construction, aiming at rear and upward removal of the bearing support, without needing to remove the pump from the line.
  • Heavy-duty shaft with deflection below 0.005” (0.13 mm) at seal faces. Bearings sized for long life under harsh operating conditions.
  • Flexible coupling with spacer on any horizontal process line.
  • Suction and discharge flanges assembled “in-line” and concentric according to ANSI/ASME B 73.2 standard.
  • Flexible coupling with spacer on any horizontal process line.
  • Double row ball bearings to prevent overloading of motor bearings.
  • Confined gaskets for sealing between the front and rear casing of the pump.
  • Hydrodynamic profile suction provided with deflector, eliminating turbulence and vortices, allowing low NPSHR values.
  • Large sealing box allows the assembly of the most varied types of mechanical seals, glands, gaskets, and sealing accessories.
  • The parts in contact with the pumped liquid can be cast in numerous alloy varieties.
  • They are pre-aligned in the factory itself and their alignment remains.
  • Bearing supports, adapters, and motor supports made of gray iron (ASTM A48 quality, class 30) and shaft made of AISI 1045 carbon steel.
  • The parts in contact with the pumped liquid can be cast in numerous alloy varieties: Nodular Cast Iron, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 317, 420, CD 4 MCU, Durimet 20, Nickel, Hastelloy B, Hastelloy C.
  • Other alloys on request.

Advantages

  • They can be mounted directly on straight sections of piping without the need for bases or foundations, reducing installation costs and eliminating the need for elbows, curves, and joints or expansion strips.
  • Bearings have a minimum service life of 2 years even in continuous operation with maximum load.
  • They use a semi-open rotor that allows a wide range of applications with the efficient pumping of clean liquids, sludge, or liquids with suspensions.
  • Allows the assembly of bearings with permanent lubrication in addition to normal grease lubrication.
  • All parts (except casings and brackets) are fully interchangeable with UND pumps of horizontal construction.
  • They have very low NPSHr.

Applications

  • The UND/II-IL Series models are particularly suitable for processes that require robust, highly versatile pumps with limited space (on offshore platforms, for example).
  • Chemical industry – in the transfer of various products, corrosive or not, in the loading and unloading of acids, transfer of organic products, in the pumping of products such as sulfur, urea, ammonia, liquefied gases, solvents, monomers, polymers, and other organic or inorganic products.
  • Petrochemical industry – in the pumping of aromatics, light hydrocarbons, heat transfer liquids, reflux, and bottom of towers, diesel, condensate, etc.
  • Pulp and Paper industry — in digesters, in pumping green, white, and black liquors, light pulps, adding products such as kaolin, titanium dioxide, etc.
  • Steel and Mining – in acid recovery, gas scrubbers, acid recirculation, etc.
  • Food industry – in pumping juices, suspensions, emulsions, broths, heat exchange fluids, condensate, ammonia, sugar, and alcohol.
  • Textile and pharmaceutical industry – pollution control, sanitation, dyeing, water cooling, condensate, acid recovery, circulation of galvanic and dye baths, gas washing, filter feeding, and numerous other industrial processes.
